The following Privacy Policy explains how Catholic Community at Stanford University (CCAS), mostly referring to its web site, catholic.stanford.edu, gathers and uses personal information that is provided by our site visitors. CCAS is committed to protecting your privacy. We do not rent or sell information from our customer database or newsletter subscribers to third parties. Site Registration
CCAS's registration forms may require users to provide basic contact and demographic information. We may use your contact information (such as email address) from registration forms to send you newsletters, information about our news and events, or to personalize your experience with CCAS. We may also use information you provide us via email or telephone to pursue the matter for which you contacted us.

Newsletters

Individual user activity on CCAS newsletters may be tracked to allow us to send content, which closely matches your interests. Demographic and profile data may be used to customize your experience on our web site or in our newsletters. If you register for CCAS events via webforms, CCAS will not share your information with advertisers, partners, and other third parties.

Data Sharing

We may share overall demographic information with advertisers, partners, and other third parties. The data is not linked to any personal information that can identify any single person. Online Surveys, and Webforms

CCAS occasionally hosts online surveys, or uses webforms on our web site in which we ask for contact and demographic information. Participation of surveys and usage of webforms is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. We may use your contact information (such as email address) from survey registration, or webforms to inform you of important news related to the Catholic Community, personalize your experience with CCAS, send you newsletters (should you opt-in for these newsletters) and occasional information about our news and events.

Demographic and profile data may be used to customize your experience on our site. This information is shared with advertisers, partners, and other third parties on a whole user group basis only.

Minor Under 18 Years Old

CCAS and its affiliated sites do not knowingly collect, maintain or use personal information from our web sites about minors under age 18. Minors under age 18 may only participate in online activities on CCAS's web site with parental/guardian consent. If a minor whom we know to be under age 18 sends personal information to us online, we will only use that information to respond directly to that child(ren) and parent/guardian.

IP Addresses

CCAS uses IP addresses to analyze trends, administer our web site, and help diagnose problems with our servers. IP addresses are also used to gather broad demographic information and to prevent, investigate, and take actions in the case of suspected problems.

Web Analytics

CCAS uses Google Web Analytics to track and generate reports on visitor use of catholic.stanford.edu and email newsletters. We use the web analytics to analyze visitor activity so that we may better understand how visitors make use of catholic.stanford.edu and newsletters. This data may include individual visitor click behavior. However, no personally identifiable information is shared with Google. Although our web analytics company logs the information coming from CCAS on our behalf, we control how that data may and may not be used.
