Early Holiday Liturgy, Sat., Dec. 6, 11:00pm in Memorial Church [event info]
Gather with Stanford friends and community to celebrate the coming of Christ into the world, which we mark with a special Advent vigil Mass and Christmas carol service.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass, Sun., Dec. 7, 4:30pm in Memorial Church [event info]
Mariachis, Spanish-style music, and the dancers from Ballet Folklorico de Stanford make for a lively liturgy honoring the patroness of the Americas and those in need of her care.

About the Early Holiday Liturgy:

Each year on the eve of the second or third Sunday of Advent, we celebrate a special late-night vigil Mass for that Sunday. Since so many members of our community, especially students, disperse to spend Christmas with their families all over the world, this liturgy is our opportunity to celebrate together as a Stanford family the hopeful waiting of Advent and the anticipated joy of Christ's birth.

The liturgy begins with a candle procession through the darkened church. Music is accompanied by orchestra and a large choir of singers from all our regular Masses. Immediately after the Mass, choir, orchestra and assembly join in singing Christmas carols. Afterwards, hot chocolate will be served outside the church. (The carol service ends at approximately 1:00am.)
