An endowment is an investment in the future. When you use your charitable gift to establish an endowment, the gift is invested with two goals in mind: to make the principal grow faster than inflation, and to provide spendable income for whatever specific purpose you have designated. The principal is never invaded, and any earnings over a certain amount--usually five percent--are channeled back into the fund to keep it healthy and growing. Well-managed endowments can generate income indefinitely. That fact makes them uniquely valuable to the Church, and therefore especially attractive to donors who wish to leave a legacy at the Catholic Community at Stanford.
The Reinhardt Lecture Series -- Funds donated by the late Kurt Reinhardt, who served as a distinguished member of the faculty, provide the opportunity to sponsor a lecture series each year. The lectures deal with issues as diverse as religion, politics, society, ethics, and Scripture.
Jonathan Greenfield Memorial Liturgical Art Series -- This is an annual presentation of liturgical artistry honoring the memory of Jonathan "Skip" Greenfield. The Series supports artists working in a variety of media such as music, dance, drama and graphic arts. The artists work together with community members to create a program during an evening venue open to the public.

Intern Program
Mexicali Program -- Every spring break, 15 students drive to Mexicali for a week of service. Service activities include working with kids, delivering food subsidies, manual labor to beautify the community, prayer services, orphanage visits, among others. Another dimension of the trip is awareness of living conditions in a developing area of the city. Expenses include a van rental and gas, food expenses in Mexicali, materials for the kid activities. Check out the CCAS Mexicali website.
