Altar Server / Acolyte. Altar servers assist the community at Sunday worship, arriving early before Mass to prepare the altar and the gifts. The altar servers form part of the entrance procession, assist the presider during Mass, and afterwards clean and store communion vessels.
Greeter. Greeting is the ministry of hospitality. Greeters welcome people to Sunday liturgy, answer questions for visitors, and distribute worship aids. During Mass, they are responsible for responding to any emergencies which may arise. After Mass, the greeters help clear the worship space and take the collection. This ministry is crucial to our Gospel mandate to welcome each other.
Lector. Lectors proclaim the Good News of the Scriptures to the community. Lectionary reads, from both the Old and New Testament, are assigned beforehand, and lectors also receive supplementary materials of theological and historical background to help them better understand the texts.
Eucharistic Ministers. Eucharistic Ministers distribute Holy Communion during liturgies. They share both bread and cup with the worshipping community.
Music Ministry. We have choirs at each of our three Masses. Choirs typically rehearse on Wednesday nights (usually 7 - 8 PM for the morning and late-night liturgies, 8 - 10 PM for the afternoon Mass). The choirs also have warm-up/rehearsal right before Mass. Vocalists and instrumentalists are invited to join the ministry.
